This week’s challenge at the Global Design Project is “CASE the Designer”. The design has been set up by Jessica Williams, member of the GDP team and the Stampin’ Up!® Artisan Design Team.
Jessica’s card features a vellum overlay and I’ve drawn on this technique to create an opaque veil over the image.
The only issue with vellum is that it doesn’t photograph so well! The subtle movement of the vellum over the image in real life is great though and adds depth to the card. I ran up some stitching down each side to add detail and two narrow side panels from the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper.
The products I’ve used are set out below with a link to my store if you’d like to buy them (Australian Residents only!).
The flower images are from the Sale-A-Bration Flowering Fields set only available through Sale-A-Bration until the end of March. You can view all the offers still available here-but be quick!
Head over to the Global Design Project website to see the other entries for this week’s challenge.

Beautiful idea Lisa – is the stitching just on the vellum or it goes through the card?
Hi Henrietta,
Thank you! The stitching goes through the vellum and the white card stock, this was completed first before adhering to the card base- so no stitching to hide on the inside of the card and no risk of stitching the card closed !!!
Beautiful! Great use of this paper and these flowers. Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s CASE the Designer Challenge at the Global Design Project – I’m glad you did.
Love the way you’ve attached the vellum with stitching. Combining these flowers and Designer Series Paper was also a brilliant move. Thanks for playing with Global Design Project.
